Journal of Tourism and Regional Development be issued from 2014 by the Institute of Economics and Finance WULS-SGGW. It is a continuation of a series of scientific publications published by the Department of Tourism, Social Communication and Counselling. Articles can be in English or Polish. The editor in chief is Professor Krystyna Krzyżanowska, and editorial secretary Ph.D. Jan Zawadka.

The journal was supported by funds from the state budget under the "Development of scientific journals" program based on the Agreement for the implementation of the project no. RCN/SP/0084/2021/1. Amount of funding: PLN 35,300.00.
Project objective: to raise the level of publishing and editorial practices of the "Journal of Tourism and Regional Development", to increase the impact of the periodical on the development of science, and to maintain the journal in international scientific circulation - a task financed from the funds of the Ministry of Education and Science (currently the Ministry of Science and Higher Education) allocated for activities popularizing science.
